CHIRP Radio Playlist -- January 9, 2010

My unintended hiatus has been due to many factors. A big one is my involvement in the Chicago Independent Radio Project. We are trying to get a low power FM radio license to run a community music and arts station. While legislation that will allow for such a station in a large market like Chicago is winding its way through Congress, we are starting an Internet station that will launch on January 17, 2010.

We are in beta testing mode. My show will be on from 9 to noon (CST) on Saturdays. I did my first practice show. Here's my playlist:

Excellent choice for the first song in your first "practice, man, practice."

That's exactly why I chose it.

Mike, Congratulations on launching the station on the intertubes. Hopefully the MHz version will be approved and on the air in twenty-ten.

Skyhooks? Really? Does Chicago really need yet another station playing the Skyhooks?!?

That's a great setlist - fantastic job. Looking forward to when I can listen.
